About the Journal
Journal theme
ViMe is a methods publishing platform and peer-reviewed journal, aims to advance visual research methods across computational, qualitative, and critical approaches.
ViMe welcomes contributions from scholars and researchers worldwide and encourages interdisciplinary work that bridges gaps between the theory and practice of visual methods. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:
- analytical tools,
- methods tutorials and walkthroughs,
- datasets,
- research-ethics guidelines and principles,
- critical, reflexive worked examples.
It also considers epistemological and theoretical contributions that examine key issues, innovations, and developments in visual methods.
With a commitment to rigorous peer review and scholarly excellence, ViMe serves as a central platform for the dissemination of high-quality research that informs and shapes the direction of visual methods, but also facilitates learning and teaching. We therefore also welcome contributions that allow early-career researchers, students, and scholars entering a new field to follow and apply a research method or approach in practice.
Publishing fees and open access
ViMe is a full open-access peer-reviewed journal in the form of a repository. All accepted articles are made freely available online with a DOI immediately upon publication, are published under a Creative Commons license, and hosted on the ViMe platform. There are currently no Article Processing Charges (APCs) to publish in this journal. Financial support is provided by the University of Zurich.
Review process
All contributions will undergo a double-blind peer review. Reviewers are briefed on the different forms of articles that are published in this repository.
